What's an EFT file? EFT stands for Electronic Fingerprint Transmission — a standardized digital fingerprint file the FBI developed for electronic submission. ATF eForms 1 and 4 accept an uploaded EFT file, so you skip the paper cards entirely. We generate yours on-site and you leave ready to upload.

Who needs ATF fingerprints

If you're submitting an ATF application to make, buy, or transfer an NFA item — or you're a responsible person on a gun trust — the ATF needs your fingerprints. We take them digitally on compliant equipment, so they read clean the first time and generate a valid EFT file for eForms. One team, in and out fast.

Buying through a trust or entity? Under ATF Rule 41F (2016), every responsible person on the trust must submit fingerprints and a photo with the application. Bring the group in together and we'll print everyone in one appointment.

ATF fingerprinting — FAQ

Yes. We capture your fingerprints digitally and generate an ATF-compliant EFT (Electronic Fingerprint Transmission) file on-site, ready to upload directly to your ATF eForms 1 or eForms 4. The fee is $110.
NFA applications require fingerprints: Form 1 (making or building an NFA firearm such as a short-barreled rifle or a suppressor), Form 4 (transferring an NFA item like a suppressor, SBR, or machine gun), and Form 5. Trust or legal-entity applications require fingerprints for every responsible person.
Under ATF Rule 41F, in effect since 2016, every responsible person — anyone with the power to direct the management of a gun trust or legal entity and possess the NFA firearm — must submit fingerprints and a photo with the application. We can fingerprint each responsible person in one appointment.
ATF eForms accept an uploaded EFT file, which is the fastest route. If you are filing a paper Form 1 or Form 4, or your dealer requires cards, you need FD-258 fingerprint cards in duplicate (two cards). We provide both — the on-site EFT file for $110 or FD-258 cards for $75 (two cards included).
Yes. Your fingerprints do not change, so a single EFT file can be used for unlimited Form 1, Form 4, and other ATF applications. Keep the file and reuse it whenever you apply.
After your form is submitted you will receive an email noting the status as submitted. For processing updates, contact the ATF directly at (877) 283-3352 — the ATF publishes current processing wait times, which vary by form type.

On-site electronic fingerprinting with your EFT file generated on the spot is $110. FD-258 fingerprint cards are $75 and include two cards, for when a paper submission is required.
