~15-minute appointment Submitted electronically to FINRA FINRA-approved cards on-site

What is FINRA fingerprinting? Anyone registering as an associated person of a FINRA member firm must be fingerprinted as part of their Form U4 filing. Prints are submitted to FINRA electronically — the fast route — or on FINRA-approved fingerprint cards. The FBI's standard FD-258 card is not accepted by FINRA. We handle both the electronic submission and FINRA-approved cards, and we also print standard FD-258 cards for state IAR and other-agency filings.

Why you're here

Who needs FINRA fingerprints

If you're joining or registering with a broker-dealer and filing Form U4, FINRA requires your fingerprints. We take them digitally on professional equipment, so they read clean the first time and submit without the delays of a rejected card. In, out, and back to onboarding — fast.

Registering a team? Onboarding several new hires at once? Ask about mobile and group service — we can come to your firm and print everyone in a single appointment so no one's start date slips.

Who we print
  • Associated persons of broker-dealers (Form U4)
  • Registered representatives & new hires
  • Principals and supervisors
  • State-registered investment adviser reps (IARs)
  • Anyone re-registering after a break in the industry

Not sure whether your filing needs electronic submission or hard cards? Call or text and we'll confirm before you come in.

Electronic submission vs. FINRA cards

Two ways to submit — we do both

FINRA member-firm registrations go to FINRA electronically. State IAR filings and certain processes still use hard cards. Either way, you're covered in one visit.

FINRA member firms

Electronic submission — $80

Digital capture, submitted electronically to FINRA through our filing partner for your Form U4. No mailing cards, no waiting on the post office.

Hard cards

FINRA fingerprint cards — $75

Two cards included, rolled on FINRA-approved cardstock — the FBI's standard FD-258 isn't accepted by FINRA. Clean prints so they aren't rejected, in your hands the same visit. Standard FD-258 cards available for state IAR filings.

What to bring to your appointment

So your prints go through clean the first time, bring:

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID
  • Your firm's SEC-registered name and its CRD or FPRD number — this is required on the FINRA card
  • Your individual CRD number, if you have one (find it on FINRA BrokerCheck)
  • Any registration paperwork or instructions from your firm

We'll capture the identifying details FINRA needs — like date and place of birth — at your appointment. Not sure what your filing requires? Call or text us first and we'll confirm before you come in.

FINRA fingerprinting — FAQ

Yes. If you're registering as an associated person of a FINRA member firm, your Form U4 requires fingerprints. We capture them digitally and submit them electronically to FINRA through our filing partner. The fee is $80.
About 15 minutes. Come in, we capture your fingerprints on digital equipment, and handle the submission. Bring any registration paperwork you have, along with your CRD number and firm name.
Processing time is set by FINRA once your prints are submitted, and it can vary. We submit promptly so the clock starts the same day as your appointment — FINRA controls the turnaround from there. Your firm will see the results move through the registration process on their end.
FINRA requires its own FINRA-approved fingerprint cards — the FBI's standard FD-258 card is not accepted for FINRA and will be rejected. We roll clean prints on FINRA-approved cardstock, two cards included, for $75, so you leave with them in hand. Most filers use the electronic route instead, which we also do. Standard FD-258 cards are available for state IAR and other-agency filings.
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and your firm's details — its SEC-registered name and its CRD or FPRD number, which is required on the FINRA card. Your individual CRD number is helpful too (find it on FINRA BrokerCheck). We'll capture the identifying details FINRA needs, like date and place of birth, at the appointment. If you're not sure what your filing requires, call or text us before you come in and we'll confirm.
For electronic submissions, your fingerprints are transmitted to FINRA. You don't have to mail anything — your firm manages the Form U4 registration on their end, and the results flow into that process.
