Charter schools carry a kind of independence traditional districts don't — you set your culture, you build your team, and in most cases you own your own hiring and HR. That independence is a strength. It also means the responsibility for getting staff fingerprinted and background-checked usually lands squarely on your desk, without a district office handling it behind the scenes.

That's a job we can take off your plate. Here's what to know, and how to get your whole team cleared before students walk in.

The part charter schools can't skip

Staff who work with students — teachers, aides, administrators, coaches, and volunteers — generally have to pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check as a condition of employment. For a charter school, there's no central district queue to lean on, so the timeline is entirely yours to manage. The schools that handle it early are the ones whose staff are ready on day one instead of waiting on a result.

One visit, your whole team

The simplest way to do this is to let us come to you. On-site group fingerprinting means we bring the equipment to your school and print your entire staff in a single appointment — new hires, returning staff who need updated prints, and volunteers alike. No sending people across town on their own time, no piecing together results from different providers.

Cleared the same day

As an approved FBI channeler, we return FBI background check results in about 30 minutes. For a start-of-year onboarding push, that means your team can be printed and cleared in one visit — not weeks of waiting.

What we handle for your school

Additional fees may apply and will be discussed during the appointment. Ask about group arrangements for your staff.

A responsive partner, not a franchise queue

Oregon Fingerprinting is an independent provider — not IdentoGO or Fieldprint. You deal directly with a real person who can flex to your calendar, which matters when you're coordinating a whole staff against a hard start date. We're women- and minority-owned and State of Oregon COBID certified (MBE, WBE, ESB). A couple of limits, stated plainly: we don't offer HAZMAT fingerprinting (for that, contact IDEMIA/IdentoGO) and we don't do SWFT.

How to get your school scheduled

Send us your headcount, what each person needs, and your location. We'll set an on-site visit — one appointment now, or a standing arrangement for mid-year hires and new volunteers. Each staff member brings a valid government-issued photo ID and any instructions from your authorizer or licensing body, and we handle it correctly the first time.

A few common questions

Do charter schools handle their own staff fingerprinting?

Often, yes. Because charter schools manage their own hiring and HR, getting staff fingerprinted and background-checked usually sits with the school. We make that step simple with on-site group service.

Can you come to our charter school and print the whole staff?

Yes. We bring mobile group fingerprinting to your school anywhere in Portland Metro and Clark County, WA, and print your whole team in one visit. See our Business & Group page.

How fast are FBI results?

About 30 minutes. As an approved FBI channeler, we return results the same visit, so new staff can be cleared before the year begins.

How much does staff fingerprinting cost?

FBI Background Check $125 per person, Fingerprint Cards $75 (two included), FDLE Submission $135. Additional fees may apply and will be discussed during the appointment. Ask about group arrangements.
